Pope Benedict XVI has named 55-year-old Bishop William Skurla of the Byzantine Eparchy of Passaic, New Jersey, as Archbishop of the Byzantine Archeparchy of Pittsburgh.
The Pennsylvania Catholic Conference (PCC) is saddened by the news that Metropolitan Basil M. Schott, Archbishop of the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh, died on Thursday, June 10, 2010. He will be laid to rest next week.
