What does the Church teach about abortion?

Senate Bill 3 is a legislative proposal that will clearly prohibit coverage of elective abortions in the taxpayer supported plans in the new insurance exchanges to be created by federal health care reform. The Pennsylvania Catholic Conference (PCC) supports this bill and is urging advocates to contact their state Senators to ask them to pass the bill. Most people know that Catholics oppose abortion, but do they understand why? Do they really know what the Church teaches about human life?

The PCC Institute for Public Policy developed a one page bulletin insert to explain the Catholic perspective on abortion.

Information about Senate Bill 3 is regularly posted at pacatholic.org/current_issues/abortion-health-care.
