The PA Catholic Conference and Catholic education officials around the state talked this past week about how well Catholic schools are doing in Pennsylvania. There has been mostly in-person learning with some online instruction in certain cases. We have not heard of any significant health issues. We ask for your prayers for that to continue.
We continue to work toward having a nurse installed in all nonpublic schools this year. Earlier in the week we urged people to reach out to their PA senators to ask them to sign on as a co-sponsor to a bill by Sen. Andy Dinniman that would call for a nurse to be in ALL schools.
And we urge you to check our website for our state and presidential voter guides!!
Here are some other things of interest that happened this past week at the Capitol as described on Twitter as they occurred. People have asked in certain cases why we are mentioning something that doesn’t seem to be an issue that the PCC should be involved with. The reason is that we look at many issues and we look to keep you informed of anything that is of note in state politics, especially as it relates to the pandemic and resulting shutdown.
The veto override attempt on HB 2787 fails. Effort gets 130 ‘yes’ votes but 136 are needed. Lots of bipartisan support, just not quite enough. @PAHouseGOP @PaHouseDems pic.twitter.com/1CvgUDGeQu
