We’ve been reaching out to pro-life lawmakers in Harrisburg after the U.S. Senate voted against a bill to protect babies surviving abortion. Here’s Rep. Paul Schemel with some reassurance for those of us who were unhappy/angry with that vote.
“I was disappointed that the US Senate failed to protect the life of vulnerable newborn children. This failure reinforces the fact that we cannot rely on federal government to protect the lives of children. We in Pennsylvania need to continue to move forward with our efforts to protect all life, from conception until natural death. This spring pro-life legislators in the General Assembly, both Republicans and Democrats, will be advancing legislation which will expand the protection of pre-born children. We are grateful for the assistance in this effort by organizations such as the Pennsylvania Catholic Conference.”
