The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider the Pennsylvania Marriage Protection Amendment on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Introduced as SB 707, the bill proposes an amendment to the state constitution:
Only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid and recognized as a marriage in this Commonwealth.
By word of caution, at times during the legislative process bills are listed for consideration, but the committee does not always get to them. If you are a constituent in one of the Judiciary Committee members, please visit, call, fax, or e-mail him or her. Ask your Senator to support the marriage protection amendment when it comes up for a vote in the Judiciary Committee.
