Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the state legislature is out of session. This means that this week and next, your senators and representatives are working in their home district offices instead of in Harrisburg at the Capitol. This is the last chance you have to visit your legislators to tell them of your support for school choice.
Given the status of school choice – Senate Bill 1 has passed the Senate and been sent to the House – these two weeks “at home” present a critical opportunity for you to visit your representative in his or her district office.
Making a visit to your legislators with fellow parents, parishioners, neighbors, teachers, or friends is the most important move you can make to pass school choice. Don’t worry about making an appointment; you can always just stop by to register your support with the office staff.
Not sure what to say? Here is a script for legislative visits. In short, “As your constituent, I am asking you to support an increase in the EITC program and the creation of a school choice voucher program.”
