Hundreds of students from schools across Pennsylvania gathered today to mark the 13th anniversary of the Education Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC).
The rally, hosted by the REACH Foundation, featured speeches by legislators and parents, as well as a presentation of an award to Lancaster Catholic school for designing the t-shirt for the attendees.
Speakers included Senator Anthony Williams, Representative Mike Vereb, Representative Paul Clymer, Darlene Callands-Curry of the African Americans for Educational Opportunities, and Representative Jim Christiana.
Each year over 40,000 students are able to attend the school that best fits their needs thanks to the EITC program. In the last 12 years, over 3,500 businesses have participated in the program, donating over $760 million.
