Tell your Senator – vote YES on SB 1

The Senate Education Committee will vote on Senate Bill 1 – the Opportunity Scholarship Act on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. If you live in the district of a Senator who sits on the Education Committee, it is urgent that you contact him or her right away. See if your Senator is on the list.

SB 1 will also be considered by the Appropriations Committee and then the whole Senate. Even if you Senator does not sit on the Education Committee, he or she will get the chance to vote on it soon. We need to demand support from these Senators, too!

Senate Bill 1 – the Opportunity Scholarship Act would provide scholarships for both public-to-public and public-to-private school choice. It also includes an increase in funding for the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. It is the right choice for Pennsylvania’s future.

Visit, call, fax, write or e-mail your state Senator and urge him or her to vote YES on SB 1 and only support amendments offered by the bill’s sponsors.
