As you know, the Pennsylvania Senate passed Senate Bill 3 by a vote of 37 to 12 on June 7. Senate Bill 3 allows Pennsylvania to prohibit insurance providers that participate in the insurance exchanges created by the federal health care reform law from covering elective abortion services.
After passage in the Senate, the bill was sent to the House Insurance Committee. Please contact your legislator and ask him/her to urge the chairman of the committee, Rep. Nicholas Micozzie (R-Delaware), to schedule a vote on Senate Bill 3 as soon as possible.
