Looking back…in the late-70’s there was debate in Harrisburg about reforming the PA’s divorce laws. The PCC argued against No Fault Divorce on the grounds that it didn’t promote reconciliation. Looking back…in 1975 the PA Catholic Conference took an active role in helping to resettle refugees from Vietnam after the war. This article says 15,000 refugees from Guam arrived in June of ‘75 at Ft. Indiantown Gap. Catholic dioceses helped find jobs and housing for them. pic.twitter.com/CSWKzoc4v0

Looking back….the PCC worked on passage of amendments to Senate Bill 199 in the mid-70’s. The amendments called for halting the sale of hard core pornography. An “Anti-Smut Law” went into effect without the Governor’s signature on November 5, 1977. pic.twitter.com/qhs5N7182W
