Young Americans Increasingly Pro-Life

A recently-released Gallup poll shows that young Americans are more strongly pro-life than older Amercians. In polling results from 2005-2009, less than a quarter of Americans aged 18-29 supported keeping abortion legal for any reason throughout pregnancy.
Among Americans aged 30-49 and 50-64, only 17 percent said all abortions should be illegal, while 23 percent of 18-29-year-olds held that position. Among those aged 65 and over, 21 percent would like all abortions to be legal.
According to Gallup, “This is a sharp change from the late 1970s, when seniors were substantially more likely than younger age groups to want abortion to be illegal.”
